The Laboratory of Archaeology and Architecture of the City at the School of Arabic Studies (LAAC, EEA, CSIC) from Granada, invites all academics and professionals interested in the debate on FORTIFICATIONS IN THE MEDITERRANEAN COAST to present their contributions at the FORTMED 2020 International Conference, both as Full Paper or as Short Paper.
ABSTRACTS
To submit a paper to the Conference it is necessary to write an abstract of 300 words or less, with: title, name/s, affiliation, keywords, topic and email address of the authors. Abstracts should be written in English, Italian or Spanish.
All abstracts must follow the Conference template. The Abstract Template is available in the section “Downloads” (see column on the left).

A Word file (.doc or .docx) and an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file should be included.
The .pdf file will be sent without personal data.
The Conference Scientific Committee will determine accepted abstracts, which will be communicated to authors.
PAPERS
After having received the acceptance of the abstract the paper should be presented.
The paper must include an abstract in English, the rest of the paper can be presented in English, Spanish, Italian or French.
All papers must follow the template of the Conference. The Paper Template is available in the section “Downloads” (see column on the left). Similarly, in Authors Guidelines instructions for figures, endnotes and references can be found.
Two types of paper will be accepted:
– Full Paper: 5 to 8 pages, including images, endnotes and references.
– Short paper: 4 pages, including images, endnotes and references.

The Scientific Committee will conduct a blind peer review, determining the acceptance or rejection of papers, and in any case, the facts justifying the exclusion or the requests for modification to be sent for final acceptance.
All duly accepted papers will be published in the Conference proceedings with ISBN, after paying registration fee by at least one author.
Submissions received after the deadline may not be included in the Conference proceedings.
ORAL PRESENTATIONS
The Scientific Committee will select the communications to be orally presented at the Conference. The Organization Committee will inform the selected authors.
The official languages of the Conference are English, Spanish, Italian and French. Simultaneous translation will NOT be performed at the Conference. For a better understanding, the presentation texts must be written in English.
The time for each intervention will be 20 minutes, of which a maximum of 15 minutes will be devoted to oral communication, allowing 5 minutes to change from one speaker to another.
Debates will be organized as indicated by the final program, where the speakers will answer to the questions by the audience.
Participants should take into account the current deadlines and the payment of the registration fee.
